The primary engineering function of our Emergency Lighting Distribution Box is to automatically dispatch fail-safe power to critical emergency lighting and evacuation path guidance illumination circuits during utility power outages or hazardous emergency events (including active building fire scenarios).
Emergency Logic Flow & Fire Command Integration
- Standby/Normal Operation Mode: Under standard operating conditions, the connected emergency illumination lamps remain unlit to conserve facility energy, while remaining on continuous monitoring standby.
- Mains Failure Auto-Activation: Upon detection of an external utility grid power failure, the localized system instantly triggers an automatic transfer, instantly illuminating all connected emergency pathways.
- Fire & Emergency Forced-Closure System: In critical emergency events such as active fire alarms, an integrated Fire Alarm System FAS Forced-Closure relay module overrides manual settings. It directly forces the immediate closure of all dedicated illumination circuits, instantly illuminating emergency egress lamps and architectural evacuation routing/exit sign indicators to guide facility occupants to safety.
Advanced Dual-Source Intake & Circuit Protection
- Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS): The primary power intake is equipped with a premium Schneider Electric Watsn Series PC-Class ATS, guaranteeing ultra-fast, seamless backup power transitions.
- Upstream Switching & Isolation Breaking: High-reliability Schneider Compact NSX NA / INS Switch-Disconnectors can be deployed ahead of the ATS framework. This setup provides robust physical isolation capabilities, ensuring a highly Visible Isolation Break on the line/source side to maximize field-technician safety during preventative maintenance.
- Downstream Branch Circuit Protection: Outgoing feeder paths are standardly equipped with Schneider Electric Acti9 iC65 Series MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers).
- Residual Current Monitoring: For high-risk, moisture-prone, or leakage-sensitive locations, the breakers can be optionally retrofitted with Vigi Residual Current Devices (RCD) / Leakage Modules to prevent ground-fault hazards.
